about
"My Stage" is a riff driven blues rock song that highlights the challenges provided by today's social media fuelled world while exploring the dichotomy being private in a public forum. The song is written from the perspective of someone who has spent their past removed from society and suddenly thrust in to the glare of modern life. Scrabbling to make sense of a world that moved on without them, this is a rallying cry to their own ego to go an seize what they perceive as their rightful place amongst the posers and fakes. It looks at a totally mundane thing through fractured eyes.
lyrics
Through my lens I live my life, on this screen I'll die. One day, one night, one lie.
Every face I touch it aches, every word is lies. Nothing real behind the eyes.
And I'm always on the run.
Begging for forgiveness to mend my evil ways, There must be more to my life than counting off the days.
A prisoner of nowhere, statistic on a page, I'm damned if I'll go quietly, my life, my world, my stage.
What you have you had to make what I've got I took, it never lets me off the hook.
It seems so real, seems like life, you still loose when you win, where does it end and I begin.
And I'm always on the run.
Begging for forgiveness to mend my evil ways, there must be more to my life than counting off the days.
A prisoner of nowhere, statistic on a page, I'm damned if I'll go quietly, my life, my world, my stage.
My life, my world, my stage. My life, my world, my stage.
My life, my world, my stage. My life, my world, my stage.
And I'm always on the run.
Begging for forgiveness to mend my evil ways, there must be more to my life than counting off the days.
A prisoner of nowhere, statistic on a page, I'm damned if I'll go quietly, my life, my world, my stage.

A wonderfully dark and whimsical bluesy-folky-rock songwriter. Start with "Sweet Sister Starlight" and proceed from there. The webcomic's pretty good as well. Cherry White
